Wool has been an important material for Scandinavian women’s crafts since the Viking Age. Fishing has been a major industry and source of sustenance in western Norway for equally long. For these reasons, the artist set out to make original works depicting fish of all kinds through the splendid technique of wool felting. The Fish Series includes 10 works from 2021 as well as an early work from c.2015. Specifically, these are: Cod (torsk), yellow perch, pike, waddling red fish, pouncing trout, fighting fish, dragon fish, flounder, deep-sea anglerfish, dumbo octopus, and Flying fish (c.2015, early work).
